Yesterday I received the news that one of my oldest and dearest friends passed away. I first met Paul Hamann in 1982 when I recorded my first four track demo of a couple of songs I had written. Those recordings would earn me my first recording and publishing deal.It was my first time in a recording studio and it started a friendship that lasted 35 years. Paul had talent that would be the envy of any recording engineer. He had incredible ears and instinct and we would work together for the next several decades. Even when my music and recording career took me to Nashville and Miami, Paul was always supportive and encouraging. His father Ken Hamann a recording engineer who had enormous success with the Cleveland Recording Company was also one of my dearest friends. Paul's passing marks the end of an era in the Cleveland music scene. Rest in peace my dear friend.
